Geospatial Analysis (Project)

On & off student housing identification project using ArcGIS.

In 2021, I was fortunate to engage in a geospatial analysis initiative wherein I actively contributed to data collection through the utilization of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software. The project entailed comprehensive cataloging of both on-campus and off-campus housing, resulting in the production of a document featuring a geographically annotated map depicting diverse housing sites. Furthermore, the document encompassed the essential meta-data required for seamless integration with ArcGIS software. My involvement in this undertaking exemplifies my aptitude for embracing novel and cutting-edge methodologies in data acquisition, underscoring my adaptability within evolving research paradigms.

Model United Nations

Southern Regional Model United Nations Simulation – 2022 Charlotte

In the spring of 2022, I was privileged with the opportunity to attend the Southern Regional Model United Nations Conference in Charlotte, NC. At the conference, students from different universities were each assigned a country and expected to work with one another on issues that when addressed, will help achieve the sustainable development goals set by the UN. Representing The Netherlands, I was assigned to the International Labour Organization where we tackled issues ranging from; disabled worker inclusion to healthy adoption of automation in the workforce. I have included some of the proposals I helped work on at the SRMUN conference. (see details to assignment below)

This simulation was extremely helpful because it helped me understand that not everyone shares the same vision for what we want to be accomplished, the simulation helped me develop my skills in negotiation communication and proposal writing.

Political Volunteering Activity

Dating back to 2012, I made it a goal of mine to always stay involved in political affairs in some fashion to express my gratitude and love for this country. My early passion for politics influenced my decision to obtain a minor in international studies.

2012 – Romney/Ryan Presidential Campaign “Virginia for Romney”: Phone banking to collect voter data.

2016 – Bernie Sanders Utah Primary Campaign “Sanders 2016”: In-person canvassing to spread awareness and raise funds.

2020 – Bernie Sanders North Carolina Primary Campaign “Bernie Sanders 2020”: In-person canvassing to spread awareness and raise funds. Distributing print media to local neighborhoods.
